Soma Flow

Soma Flow is a gentle practice of yoga and somatic movement

  • Resource: toolkitting using somatic practices to help regulate the nervous system and build capacity to hold emotions and feelings

  • Re-connect: gentle movement based practices focused on noticing, listening and enquiry into the body to build interoception

  • Release: longer held shapes and myo-fascial release to work with the connective tissue which can hold long-held patterns in the body

  • Rest: guided somatic meditation and rest

Embodied Movement

Embodied Movement is a guided practice that pendulates between containers of yoga asana and cued free movement.  â€‹It offers a chance to get out of your head and listen more deeply, and more intuitively into yourself and your body.

A carefully curated soundscape will support and guide the theme of enquiry and there will be full permission to take whatever you need during the practice

Don't worry if this is something new to you, there will be sufficient guidance to work within, you can move as intuitively as you like (or don't like!). â€‹

Nervous system nurture

This session has a workshop style format, and begins with a chat about the nervous system and the key parts of nervous system theory that can help you begin to befriend your own nervous system, and recognise which state it is in at any given time, and therefore what you might need to support yourself .

We'll then put this into practice, checking in with how we feel on the day and learning tools we can use to help regulate our nervous systems.  A healthy nervous system isn't always calm, but it can move between states without getting 'stuck'.  This is about learning how to unstick ourselves.

Deep Rest

We need stillness to heal.

This is something I feel profoundly when I treat practice clients in Craniosacral  therapy.  Our bodies and our nervous systems need stillness to heal;  change comes from stillness and returns to stillness.  This is the antidote to a society and systems that glorify being constantly busy and hustling.
Deep rest includes yin yoga & myo-fascial release, restorative yoga (long held poses, no effort), guided somatic meditation, yoga nidra, and guided rest.  Take a breath, take a pause.  Give yourself space and time to heal.
